I think I figured out why apple is removing data recovery features and denying the fact that it's even possible, security they want security even for criminals security that even the police can't crack.

Anyone remember when Apple removed the hardware data recovery method how to get data off of their laptops, maybe removing those pins or just a space-saving measure.

why do they want this obviously this is speculation, but to cover their own tracks because obviously they use Apple computers and they're afraid of a data breach.

Imagine if someone stole a laptop with the specs of the new iPad Pro processor, it's a multibillion-dollar failure.

And I think it's happened before

Just now, James Evens said:

There was already a solution: mathematics also known as encryption. You can not break it with a warrant or law.

I mean all my information was from Louis rossmann and iPhone data recovery stories, does it involve desoldering the SSD like upgrading and iPhone storage?

And while I was writing this figured out a method to break encryption, I'm probably insane so just tell me that instead of badgering me.

if you're trying to break encryption why can't you just find data like pictures that were already on the phone, and use them like a key to break the encryption?

If that worked then nothing online would be secure ;)

Data recovery on apple devices? Don't be ridiculous, if you didn't make an icloud backup, all your data is gone. There's no way to recover it. Apple devices can detect if it's been tampered with and won't let you access any data, if it was possible, the FBI and other law enforcement agency around the world would like a word with you.

....
I felt like vomiting in my mouth a little while writing that drivel. Partial truths and complete lies those are. (While you can get a phone to boot back up by fixing it, it doesn't "unlock" the phone, meaning the data is still very much encrypted without the passcode...)

In all seriousness... I get where Apple is coming from, they don't do logic board repair, so even if it is very much possible to just replace a few chips or capacitors to get the device working again(or simply remove the jtag connector), because they don't do any that and have no power over the people that can offer such a service, they pretend it doesn't exist to avoid giving their precious customers a very possible terrible experience/service only to be blamed for it when it isn't their fault.

After all, a logic board repair isn't always guarantied to work, while a full logic board replacement, is. (all while safeguarding the precious "appearance" of the inside of the product that nobody will see anyway)

Apple is all about "streamlining" things, if they don't have any oversight or power on it, it may as well not exist.

I feel like the real lesson in this whole thing, is that you should always backup your devices, especially if you have "priceless pictures/videos" on it.
