Are you already on an AM3+ platform? If you are, get the fx 6100. If not, don't get either of these and go for a ryzen 3 2200g instead with a motherboard and some ram (if you can afford that). Be sure to tell us a budget if you can.

Unfortunately that’s above my budget. I’m currently on the AM3 platform which is pretty bad...

I got a ps5 and a pc pretty ballin

FX sucked.

A series were extremely meh.

 

If you want legacy on a budget, go 4th gen Intel; much better overall.

Since you have DDR3 RAM, you can go with Intel up to Devils Canyon. Including i5-4460 which was really nice budget CPU back in the day. But almost any Intel 4xxx CPU is good.
