I usually use handbrake to transcode my movies to h.265 to save a lot of space, but I'm not able to transcode some of my movies as it says the files can't be read.  I'm going for max quality transcodes, without worrying about horsepower or encoding time.  Is there a program that can read all 1080p and 4k movies without an issue.  If needed, my typical settings on handbrake are slower speed with a RF of 17.

Do other programs read the file? Try ffmpeg and show the exact error.

Im guessing the video file is bad, there is normally an option to skip the bad part, and many players will do this. But you can't fix a corrupted video.
