Numerous search shows me conflict information between is it OK or not to use ram from different brand so I'm pretty confused.

Now in my case, I have corsair vengeance LPX 8GB (4*2) DDR4 2666mhz OCed to 3000mhz

And I wanted 8GB more. The thing is I found HyperX predator 8GB (4*2) 3200mhz for the exact same price as the corsair 2666mhz.

So why should I pay for less mhz if I can get more? Wouldn't the hyperx just downclock to 3000mhz since it already support high frequency ?

As long as you don't mix RAM brands within the same channel (consult your mobo manual to determine which slots are in which channels), you shouldn't run into any issues.

As far as the frequency goes, it depends on whether or not you set the frequency any higher than you have it set right now. If you got 3200Mhz, but left your frequency set to 3000Mhz, you aren't "downclocking" the HyperX. DDR4 has a base speed of 2133Mhz, and you have to OC to achieve any speed higher than this. When you buy a RAM kit it lists a frequency that is higher than 2133Mhz, this means that that kit is rated by the manufacturer to be almost guaranteed to OC to that particular speed.
