I picked up a Dell Optiplex 780 Desktop model yesterday, along with the PCI-E riser bracket. My plan was to use it for XP gaming, and the XP install went off without a hitch. So did SP3. The problem came with the HD 6570 GPU I wanted to use. The XP driver I'm getting from AMD's site keeps throwing an unsigned driver error when I try to install it. After a few rounds of failure, I just tossed a FirePro V4800 in there instead, and it installed perfectly fine.

That said, I'd really rather use the 6570. It doesn't perform quite as well, which is fine by me, because it's more accurate hardware for an XP gaming box. Also, there aren't too many XP or earlier games that an HD 6570 can't handle 1080p on. If I have to stick with the FirePro, I will, but if there's a way to get those drivers corrected, I'd prefer to go that route. I've been stuck with this problem with AMD drivers before, and my solution then was the same as what I'm doing now: new card. Is there a way to either get signed drivers or force the unsigned ones to install?

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.
