I want to upgrade the amount of RAM I have on my LG Gram 13. Currently, I have two 4 GB DDR 2400 sticks with CAS latency 10, 1 soldered and 1 in the only accessible RAM slot. Unfortunately, I cannot find any RAM with the same speed and latency. How much issue would I have if I added a 16 GB DDR 2400 stick at a latency of 14 or 16, which is what I can find?

If you can't adjust RAM timings in BIOS then it could be a huge problem.

Unfortunately, the BIOS is pretty limited; RAM timing adjustments are definitely not included. If I can't find anything with the same timing, am I a bit S.O.L.? I specifically bought this laptop instead of others because of the user replaceable RAM as I thought I would be able to upgrade it down the road.

According to other users online, the laptop is quite flexible, and can support SO-DIMM DDR4-2400 with a range of latencies / timings.

Heck, Crucial recommends DDR4-2400 RAM with CAS 17 timings...

Thanks, Rascal. I took that advice and just went for it. There was a sale on a 16 GB stick of G Skill ram with CAS 16 timings, and everything is running nice and smooth.

So confirmed, 13-inch LG Gram 13Z980 does seem to work fine with mixed timing RAM.
