Help with picking out a SSD

So recently the hard drive in my Gigabyte Sabre 15 Gaming Laptop gave out and I am trying to figure out what to replace it with. Since the laptop came with a 256 GB SSD and a 1TB hard drive I was thinking about just upgrading the SSD instead of buying a new hard drive to replace the one that gave out. However, the issue comes with the fact that I am not entirely sure what type of SSD the laptop uses. I believe the SSD to be a m.2 2280 form factor with a SATA 3 interface. So I was wondering if anyone could confirm this, the current SSD in the laptop is a Liteon CV3-8D256. If I am right about the type I was planning on replacing it with a samsung 860 evo series SSD. I'd probably save a little coin and just pick up an MX500 or something.

Why not just add a second SSD in place of the hard drive? Get an MX500.

Thanks for the suggestions after looking at the mx500 I think I will go with that to replace my hard drive.
