Sata to m.2 conversion

Hello all,

I am looking to use a unique storage configuration on my Asus GL503VD-DB71 laptop.  I have added a 250 gig Samsung 970 evo m.2 for the boot drive and now want to upgrade the mass storage.  

 

I am hoping to use the StarTech dual m.2 to sata converter which offers both raid and jbod configurations to run the 1 or 2 tb m.2 ssd inplace of the 2.5 sshd.  My question is weather or not the laptop will be able to utilize both drives in the adapter and if so if it will be able to read them seperatly or not.  Any advice or information is greatly appriciated.

Normally those 2 to 1 adapters have sata expanders, and those suck and aren't supported well.

 

Id just get a single large ssd in the 2.5 bay.
