Hello, I've owned a Asus PG279Q for about 2 years now and something odd started going on with it. A weird grey smudge or clouding seems to have appeared but only seems to be visible when playing games and on certain backgrounds and I'm not sure what's going on

If you're still under warranty, you might be able to get ASUS to return it or replace it.

Luckily I have a warranty for a few more months, was just trying to figure out what caused this or if I could do anything about it before shipping it off

You certainly could probably try a few things, such as putting light pressure on that area of the panel to see if it changes. However, if you try anything that causes damage, your warranty is void, so best to have it handled under warranty. That being said, if it's minor backlight death or backlight bleed, it'll be up to ASUS whether or not they cover that - many monitor manufacturers won't replace the panel until you experience at least 3 stuck or dead pixels.

Desktop: KiRaShi-Intel-2022 (i5-12600K, 5060 Ti) Mobile: Moto Razr 50 Ultra (Razr+ 2024) | 30GB CAN+US+MEX $30/month
Laptop: Lenovo Yoga 7i (16") 82UF0015US (i7-12700H, 16GB/2TB RAM/SSD, A370M GPU) Tablet: Lenovo Tab Plus (256GB)
Camera: Canon M6 Mark II | Canon Rebel T1i (500D) | Canon SX280 Music: Spotify Premium (CIRCA '08)

Thanks for the help I'll most likely ship it off
