New Laptop

I am looking for a new laptop as my old mac book air is starting to die on me. I am looking for a laptop under 2000 Canadian. Look for i7 8th gen, 16gb of ram and a decent sized ssd, touch screen would be nice also but not necessary. These are what I was looking at

do you want to game? are you ok with thicker laptops? or only thinner ones? by decent, do you mean 256gb+ ssd or 512gb+? are you ok with windows? or do you want another mac?

I have to go windows for some of my cad applications. Under 5 pounds preferably but if it’s a huge sacrifice on performance I’d rather have performance. I will not game on this as I have a desktop at home.

Around or under 5lbs and battery life isn’t a huge concern.

Since battery life isn't a huge concern, why not heavier (under 5 lbs) and thicker laptop with better cooling?
