help with new hardware and streaming!

so i just upgraded from an i5 7600 to a i7 8700k. My old setup streamed ok with almost no lag. My new setup (all i changed was mobo and CPU) stream with significant lag with streamlabs OBS. I can;t figure out why it would be this bad. Can anyone please help?
