Laptop underperforming

i5 7300hq

gtx 1050ti (4gb)

16 gb ram (ddr4, dual channel)

1tb hdd (5400rpm)

so guys, my laptop is really underperforming, I experience often frame drops, and often times not even playable frame rates at 1080p low/ medium.

any software tweaks to help?

Make sure you're not overheating, get a SSD, check that nothing in the background is using up CPU or GPU.

well, nothing thermal throttles, and I try to close stuff, but still, it performs pretty badly. will getting an ssd better frame rates?

SSD might help in some games but will certainly makes Windows usage much smoother

no, that was a previous issue, have corrected it
