So I am joining the glorious PC master-race. Woot!

I mainly wanted a computer for video editing (Though I've been doing more gaming then video editing...)

I bought all my parts (listed here), and called my girlfriend over (she's a nerd, and I'm a showoff). Then I realized it wasn't as easy as I thought it'd be, but I only broke one thing!

I wasn't taking pictures all throughout, because I figured it wouldn't work out that well, but here's a quick rundown:

When I was installing the PSU, I tried to put it in so the fan was facing down. However, that didn't really work, as the screw holes didn't line up on my case when it was like that. So that was weird, but I flipped it over, and started to put everything in. Getting the NH-D14 on was a bit of an adventure, but we eventually figured it out. Not a whole lot happened after that, except for me breaking the USB 3.0 header on my motherboard (whoops!), which I fixed by using the USB 3.0 to 2.0 adapter that came with the case.

When I got my graphics card a month or so later, installing that was another adventure. I had to move around some of my PCI-E cards to get it to fit, and the wiring was interesting, but I eventually figured it out.

Overall I'm pretty happy with it. I kind of wish I hadn't broken the USB 3, but not much I can do about that, other than not doing it next time.

I've ordered some Noctua NF-A14 PWM fans to put in the top as exhaust. Now I'm just waiting for them to get here!

Perhaps I should have named this build "Nothing Special", but it's special to me, so I'll keep the name. :D

Congratulations, nice build.

Hardware= awesome

lightning GPU with the LED's looks sooooooo good

windows 7??? still people?

I know, I thought I'd hate the LED's, but they're kind of sick.

Heh. I know what you mean, but Windows 7 was free, so I figured I might as well. I'll probably upgrade sometime, but not right now.

Coz windows 7 = #sweg4lyf

In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only a GTX 1080, just a single 1080, where my glorious PC once stood....

For that is all I need, For the Emperor of Man, Jen-Hsun Huang, protects. We march for Nvidia, and we shall know no fear!

sexy sexy C70, u know it's true when it rhymes.

I honestly want to see more C70s in build logs.

anyway nice rig, will you set color to it later down the line? :P

You know I planned on making it black and red, and it mostly is. I may throw a red LED strip in there sometime, but that's not the top priority right now.

Absolutely fantastic build!  Good work!

Thank you! Honestly, I just had to watch Linus and Logan to learn.

yea it's something you do when you got extra $$$ to burn, I can tell you right now I've burnt through way too much money just to get the color juuuuust.... right :)

Check out the build: Used to be Obot, now Lilith

Shameless: Me

i'm sorry to hear about the usb 3.0 connector, but really nice build. I maybe would have gone with an other GPU to match the color of the MB but thats just me beeing snobbish :)

You know, I would have gotten the Asus DCUII, but it wasn't in stock, and the Lightning was $20 cheaper anyways!

Yeah, I know. I live in a pretty hot place, so I figured it'd be a good idea to have some extra ventilation, but... I dunno.
