To make this short, I've got an R9 390x that was overheating even when id throttle it down and upped the fan speed. I was looking around on some forums and came across a guy that mentioned thermal paste. I had seen this before but was a bit scared to try it. FF to today where my temps had reached 95C in Dirt Rally 2.0 after only 5 minutes, I had just cleaned out my pc so I was confused. Then I remembered that thermal paste thing and immediately looked at some videos, and the first one that popped up was an LTT video on it. I followed the guide and its really not hard at all. it might have taken me 15min tops. i used some Arctic Silver 5 i had lying around from when i built my machine a few years ago. When everything was back together and booted up, the temps shocked me: 45C at idle and no more than 84C at 100% load after an hour of gameplay! Evan if your temps are good, go ahead and give this a try. It made me and my GPUs day.

Doesn't repasting void warrant on the card?

Just curious

I think it depends on the manufacturer. There is normally a sticker over one of the screws if it does void the warranty. Thankfully mine did not have one.

Very heavily depends on where you live (as to the legality of being able to enforce the law), in addition to who makes your card. EVGA for example, has stickers on their cards that tell warranty service personnel that additional checks need to be done if they've been tampered with, but they openly state that it doesn't void your warranty.
