Case on glass table

So first off not sure if this is the right place for this. (Almost went to off topic) 

Well my computer normally sits on the floor but would like it to be on the table but for some reason when I put it on the table it and you touch the case it feels like one of those shocking pens but just continously none stop. I'd then move it back to the floor and no issue..is it because my case needs to be grounded? 

Case is the phanteks p400s.

There may be a grounding issue with the machine that isn't present when it quite literally is in contact with the floor.

I'd stick a multimeter on it to see what it's actually doing

Check your power strip for grounding issues. I've seen faulty power strips that had some voltage on the grounding pins although the outlet was fine.

How exactly should I check my power strip? My montiors don't do it but they are sitting on my mouse pad.(one of those large ones)

There should be no reason why a case is receiving power directly to it, everything inside should be insulated and grounded. FTR unless you're putting the case on a metal floor that would not provide any sort of grounding to the case either as carpet and wood are both insulators (and even then I assume the case has rubber or plastic feet).

 

As suggested, you need a multimeter. Its entirely possible what you are feeling is actually vibration and not current but either way you need to find the source and eliminate it. 12v DC would not be detectable by touch (unless it was at extreme amps).

I'll try a volt meter. Gotta find it first but if you have ever touched one of those electric shock pens that is exactly how it feels if not just a hair more sensitive. Yes the case does have rubber feet which sits on concrete.

A multimeter, a voltmeter or a voltage/curerent detector should do it.
