Raid 0..? Do any drives work?

ch3w2oy

The Intel 660p 1tb NVMe drives are on sale for $109 right now. If I run these in raid 0 what will my performance be like? Better than sx8200?

Does 2x1tb drives in raid 0 = 2tb storage?

I'm either gonna grab two of these or just one sx8200 pro 1tb. Which will be better in terms of performance?

This would be my first time, any tips appreciated..

I will also back up entire copy to HDD for redundancy often.

While I don't know enough to vouch for the performance gains with RAID 0, I do believe that it will be 2TB of storage.

"uhhhhhhhhhh yeah id go with the 2600 its a good value for the money"

Thanks, I think so too. Trying to do research before I buy them. I'm just experimenting for fun so I don't care if real world performance is noticeable..

i THINK it would still be 1tb, because your writing data across the drives, not as if there were stacked if im thinking about this correctly

No, the data capacity would be 2TB as the drives are striped (written to both at the same time with parts of the data), not like raid 1 where it is mirrored on both.

And personally I think you're better off with the sx8200 with the faster speeds.
