CPU Temps high...

SOLVED: Speccy was super inaccurate - I used coretemp and it showed me i was getting 23 Degrees.. For anyone having this issue - i highly advise to use different software to compare!

 

Hi peeps!

 

I just got finished building my new build today, second ever.

 

Although, everything is running great - My cpu temps have got me a little..eh,

 

I'm currently getting 72 °C (went up to 83 while typing this post) Idle, with just 1 tab of chrome open - i'm pretty sure with my old build i was getting like 40-50/60°C idle.

 

I decided to try out some liquid cooling and purchased myself a AIO. Everything seems to be installed fine and fans are running , i (think) i heard the sound of liquid being pumped around on startup which i'm sure is normal, right?

 

Am i going crazy thinking these temps are high? or is there something going on with my cooling..

if i had to guess i'd say you're doing something screwy with the thermal paste or not mounting your cooler correctly. 75 idle is a bad temp to be at

I applied the thermal paste as a little pea size and it's full contact as i checked. I'm so confused on what's going on - literally about to take out the AIO and put in the free one that comes with Ryzen CPUs..I don't like seeing my temps this high

Just checked with CoreTemp i'm currently at 23 degrees, You saved me from freaking out. Note to self: Never use speccy

check temp in bios just to be sure but that temp seems more reasonable

Just checked, 23 it says in bios :))
