I want to get a new Z87 system, what CPU should I get?

I use my PC for gaming as well as a little video/photo editing and zipping.

My price point is around $200 and the obvious choice is the 4670k (how much can the 4670 be overclocked, I'd probably only go to 4GHz?), but I was wondering if there was any other competitors. I've heard about the Xeon processor being good if you used a dedicated graphics card, which I will.

Thanks for your help, also the reason I'm not using AMD is because their M-ITX motherboards aren't nearly as good/fully featured as Intel's.

4670 k. Some get stuck at 4.2, but that is still a 800 mhz oc. That is more then a 8350 going to 4.8, because the Intel starts at a lower number and is therefore a bigger percentage. If you win the silicon lottery yeah you can go to 4.7 at around 1.3v on a dual rad water cooler. That is the exception but it happens. Mine would do it on water. My friends does 4.2. Bought the chip at the same place on same day and both were Costa Rica's with a close batch number

If looking for a budget video card, the R9 270 from MSI is pretty decent. Runs cool, will OC to a 270x moving some sliders over and does pretty well even in the new titles. Mantle should give it a bump also. Gigabyte/Asus are also decent brands on a video card. I wouldn't go Nvidia till about a GTX 770, which is when they start to be a budget option vs the r9 280 which is marked up from coin miners.

CPU:24/7-4770k @ 4.5ghz/4.0 cache @ 1.22V override, 1.776 VCCIN. MB: Z87-G41 PC Mate. Cooling: Hyper 212 evo push/pull. Ram: Gskill Ares 1600 CL9 @ 2133 1.56v 10-12-10-31-T1 150 TRFC. Case: HAF 912 stock fans (no LED crap). HD: Seagate Barracuda 1 TB. Display: Dell S2340M IPS. GPU: Sapphire Tri-x R9 290. PSU:CX600M OS: Win 7 64 bit/Mac OS X Mavericks, dual boot Hackintosh.

A 4670K will be able to hit 4.4GHz, that's probably as high as you'll want to go or the chip will start to degrade because of the high voltage.
