Okay so i bought a Gpu and after two weeks of playing Guild Wars 2 i noticed and electrical burning smell, at first i thought it's my brand new Antec HCG 650watt Psu that has blown a capacitor, turns out the smell was coming from my Gpu so i removed the heat shroud and inspected the PCB and noticed moist on the card and a piece of the copper track sticking out and it's a little black. I want to know now can it be fixed?  I attached a picture, sorry for the bad quality.

Looks like the capacitor is leaking... Not fixable without special training. If it's still under warranty return it and see if the seller will cover it.

Please mention or quote me if you want a response. :)

I thought those big black squares were inductors. Edit: not talking about Q18 & 20 Edit: but yeah, like @Uptivuptiz said, check your warranty, looks like a manufacturing defect.

Whoops. You're right. Just read up on it. Anyway, bottom line: GPU is dying.

no warranty anymore? if you do still have it, don't hesitate, knowing evga you can send it to them today for rma

Nope, i don't have on and if it did I have already voided the warranty. What will be a better card than this one for a little bit more expensive? No more second hand stuff for me.

Ah the void sticker fell of somewhere so i don't know where it is but I'm sure it doesn't have a warranty. Okay so live in South Africa so with the currency we use I'm looking for something around R4000 ($280)

What about an RX 590? It's on sale down from R5549 to R3999:

https://www.wootware.co.za/xfx-radeon-rx-590-fatboy-rx-590p8dfd6-8gb-gddr5-256-bit-pci-e-3-0-desktop-graphics-card.html

Or you could go for an RX 580:

https://www.wootware.co.za/xfx-radeon-rx-580-gts-xxx-edition-rx-580p8dfd6-8gb-gddr5-256-bit-pci-e-3-0-desktop-graphics-card.html

The RX 580 is 400 rand cheaper so it's up to you which you want to buy. The RX 580 and 590 are similar cards, the only difference between them is that the RX 590 is a little bit faster than the 580. They both have 8GB of VRAM.

You should contact evga and double check if it still has a warranty. The sticker falling off means nothing.

should be fixable, you just need to get someone who can solder and knows what they are doing with electronics, to clean and neutralize the area and replace the burnt out component.
