290 or 290x

So im still undecided which one should i get, a r9 290 or a 290x.

the price of 290x Tri-X is around PHP29,790 or USD662 and the price of 290 Tri-X is PHP22,560 or USD502

 

I'm planning to play at a 2560x1440p resolution possibly at max or high settings.

 

As for the games that i'll be playing, AC Black Flag, NFS Rivals, TW3 oh and i also use SweetFx/ENB.

If i pick a 290 ill be able to get a 4770k but if buy a 290x im off to a 4670k. So which one should i get?

The performance difference isn't too big,and the difference between an i7 and an i5 isn't noticeable.

So...it's your choice.

Id go with the r9 290 and the i5 4670k tbh, then just pick up another peripheral/LEDs/another SSD or whatever you need.

save some money both cpu and gpu wise if its just a gaming build

if gaming only, 290 plus 4670k will be enough, spend the savings on an SSD or a better monitor

Get the 290 & OC it. If you just plan on gaming, get the 4670K & use the saved money somewhere else.
