Looking to Update BIOS

Go to solution Solved by Phas3L0ck,

You have your answer right there. Click the "Application" Type file called "Update," and if it asks you to select the update file, the file "Z87-A-ASUS-2103.CAP" is your update image. Select that file in the update program then follow the onscreen instructions (usually a button or two) to apply.

I am looking to Update my BIOS but I am unsure what file I need to run in order to not brick my motherboard. I attached a screenshot of the files I have extracted. I am currently running on paranoid juice so I would really appreciate some like MSpaint level arrows to make sure I don't brick my board.

Thanks in advance

Probably won't talk much don't take it the wrong way.

What's in the folder-- the item on top?

Also the .CAP file looks like a binary and could be the actual update image for which you need a tool to install. Most newer systems have GUI programs provided by the board maker for flashing the new image.

Got it I thought so but I wanted to make sure. I am mainly trying to stop my computer from resetting when I start up GPU bound games like Overwatch and Subnautica. CPU bound games like StarCraft 2 and Rocket League seem to work fine and the nVidia support guy told me to update my BIOS.

Thanks a ton

How big is your PSU? You could be overdrawing amperage loading some heavy games. Also update your nVidia drivers and check the device settings.

Yeah, I was thinking that a few weeks ago the RTX 2060 requires a 600 watt PSU and I have a 620 Watt PSU right now. I used DDU to clean out the old drivers. I disabled Haste, Discord, and Chrome I still got the same restarting. I got quite a lot of help from an EU Overwatch support person. I'm going to do the BIOS update tonight. Thanks for the help I will update the thread if it bricks it or if it works out.

Also try a power cluster; unplug your GPU from the main power supply and grab any old PSU laying around (minimum 400W) and plug that into your GPU. Use common modder tips to make it work (bridge the green and black ATX pins). It's stupid to think you'd need it, but lacking further detail on your system it's worth a try for elimination purposes.

I don't really have another PSU besides I just tried it so I'll mark your solution as solved thanks
