hi guys 

 

now recently i have upgraded my ram in my inspiron laptop R15 with one 8 GB crucial stick pc3L model beside the samsung stock 4GB ram  as i have a 4th generation core i7 4500U  will it afect the dual speed as in CPU z it is reading dual channel  but in the memory slot ranks it stats for the for the 4gb single for the 8gb it stats Dual any feedback regarding this issue ??? thank you

you should have got 2 8GB sticks, 2 unmatched sticks wont give you the best performance.

 

I'd sell the 4GB stick and buy another 8GB with the same frequency and timings.

Two different sized sticks will not run in dual channel. Depending on the game that can result in a 10-40% drop in frame rate/ performance compared to running dual channel.
