Hey so to cut down expenses ... can I just start with only a ssd of 250 gb.... as I don’t need a TB of space .... and I don’t own any games as of now ...so I shall play only free to access games ..(BR...multiplayers).   I don’t think for sometime even 250gigs will get filled up

I need storage for- 4-5 games tops ...,drivers and most important of all.... Windows 10.....

what are your opinions on this matter

A 250gb SSD is perfectly fine for a boot drive, 4-5 games has the potential to take up more space than you might realize though, this is all relative to what games you're talking about in specific.

Pairing it with an inexpensive mechanical drive is something I'd strongly recommend you consider. If you don't have the funds for it right now, it can always be purchased and added later with very little issue.

250GB will be fine for Windows 10 and a handful of games.

But I would strongly recommend you buy a 1TB HDD instead of an SSD just so you have the higher storage capacity; especially if you're on a tight budget, you can get 4x the space for just about the same price.

Yeah 250gb is perfectly fine. I use a 250gb boot drive and a 1tb HDD for videos and stuff, with 2-3 games on my SSD.

I completely get what u guys are saying .... but can we consider this....?

i need PC for a few games so. Let’s assume 150 gb for the games .. 20gb for OS (i am not sure though)... still I have got a lot left 70-80 gb of space left ... I have no pics. No videos to store ...and alli’ll need space will be for ms office and python.(Idle) my father’s 9 yr old Laptop had 600gb of internal space .. my father uses it heavily for downloading stuff like pics and videos ... and believe it or not he has been successfully able to fill up only 230 gb!

one more thing .. in the money that I can save ... I can go for a better peripheral or a better mobo or a better psu or a better case and most important....a better gpu or a better cpu

I’d also like to state ....after buying a PC I am sure my dad won’t get me anything (including games ) for a period of 6 months or more ..  so all I can play is pubg(I can save. Some bucks to get that)...apex,fortnite,rainbow6,csgo...and other ultra cheap or free games .. and when I feel I am outta space I can go for a TB of HDD

A 250GB will be fine. When and if you run up against capacity limitations you can consider the then available options.

I would go this route rather than starting with an hdd. The performance difference is noticeable. Adding an hdd later is going to be much easier than saving up for an ssd and then migrating to the new unit.

Presuming the M.2 drive is also SATA III I would get the 2.5 in. model. There is no real performance difference and this would leave the M.2 connector open should an upgrade to an NVMe M.2 drive be possible.

So, I'm not going to be convincing you into anything, but just a heads-up. Windows takes more space with time, because of the updates and libraries it needs to run some programs/games, when you install such programs and games. Also, I don't know how large the free to play games are, or anything, but game sizes can be deceptive. When I bought GTA5 it was 60gigs, now with all the updates it's eaten over 80gigs of my drive.

Just something to keep in mind. Happy gaming.

Okey dokey

Agreed, Destiny 2 was an 80GB download and I think now it's around 104GB used up.
