So the thing is: my PC throws me a bluescreen in my face around every week. It happens at random moments. Today all I was doing was watching some Twitch, nothing crazy running in the background.

I got the full log from the error. All the bluescreen reports contain this same information and error codes which to me looks like it's the same problem every time.

I got a suspicion that what's causing it is the October update that I installed. Before that I had no problem with the computer whatsoever. Is it possible to undo this update (I installed it like 2 months ago)? But I would much rather fix this error since I love the dark file explorer soooooooooooooo much.

Specs:

Dell Precision m4800

Intel Core i7-4810MQ

ram 16gb ddr3

Quadro 1100M

Samsung evo860 250gb (for OS)

+ stock hdd

fix this error

Somewhere buried in Win10 are the crash dump files from your BSOD. If you upload the files here, I can debug them directly and tell you *exactly* where the issue is.

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

I got the automatic dump enabled but windows didn't create any dumps. All the locations where one should be are empty. But I got Automatic Restart enabled which according to microsoft docs may be a reason where these dumps weren't created. But I can't trigger the blue screen coz it's random... I guess I'm gonna have to wait for the error to occur again.

Actually I screenshooted the wrong error... Here is the correct one:

  • 4 weeks later...

It happened again. This time it created the memory dump file. Where should I post it? Mind you it's over 1GB.

Apart from that I have been noticing a new behavior recently. I got my PC connected to a docking station and sometimes it randomly disconnects from it. I got my mouse and other stuff connected to the station and they stop working for 2-3 seconds. Another thing that bothers me is when I right click on something it often takes 3-5 seconds to display a context menu. It's super weird because my PC working perfectly fine in other tasks. CPU usage in idle is around 1-2%, RAM is like 80% free, SSD usage is 0%. Worst case scenario I am ready to reinstall the OS but that's not ideal.

dump files shouldn't be very large, they are just plain text. What is the file name and location of said file?

Install WhoCrashed and BlueScreenView and check what they tell you about it. It might be a USB driver issue.

Here is what I got from WhoCrashed.

One more thing. When I connect my phone to the computer via usb it hardly ever works. The phone shows up in explorer only for a few seconds or doesn't show up at all. I also use an external usb audio interface (behringer umc22) and the audio crashes at least once a day. However, I don't think it is the problem because the crashes started before I even got the interface.

Because it's laptop, you have very limited options. You cannot easily replace parts for tests. And it looks like hardware problem. But nobody can be sure. If you have second ssd/hdd, you may try to install Windows on it and test. But if you have just laptop and no spare parts, it's hard to fix anything.

Actually, I can. Everything in this laptop is replaceable, even CPU is in a socket not soldiered. But I need to know for sure what to replace.

Is there any use doing a full RAM check? If so, what tools should I use?

SDD is unlikely to be damaged since it's the only part that is new in this pc, but who knows hmmm...

The thing that comes to my mind first is the hard drive that I use for storage. It's got quite a lot of up-time and data written to it so... It's worth scanning I guess. What are some reliable tools to do that?

What I wanted to say is that if I find the part that causes the issue I can easily replace it since everything in this laptop is replaceable.

Unfortunately, I don't have any spare parts to do basic troubleshooting. My idea was to check every component like Ram, Cpu or disk using some software tools.

Right now I got a scan running on my hdd using Macrorit Disc Scanner. Is this result gonna be any use?
