Issues with FE 1080

Friend of mine is having trouble with his 1080 he recently bought used. He was previously using an RX 480 and needed the upgrade. He used DDU to remove old drivers and has done some troubleshooting with me, but I've run out of ideas. I'll have him sign in to LTT and he can get into the meat of the issue when he can.

He gets sudden shutdowns, but not related to stress tests as I had him get Aida64 to see what happens. I also had him use HWMonitor to see GPU and CPU temps in game, they were within reasonable bounds (below 70 most of the time).

 

Edit 1: he says it happens when he's inactive for a few minutes, then when he puts the system in motion again it crashes. So the PC never really crashes during gameplay, only in pause menus.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

can he boot with integrated graphics and run a system integrity scan and remove the drivers again?

HEDT, unfortunately not an option. I can have him remove drivers again to see what running the 1080 driver free will do though.

Can't say I'm familiar with any specific ones, and like I said, Aida already put the GPU through the ringer.
