Have an i5-8400 currently, and want to upgrade to RTX 2070 since I use a 1080p @ 144Hz monitor to achieve it, will it bottleneck? Or will I just go for RTX 2060?

Can't afford 1440p atm. But I am fond in FPS.

Uhh... Hi?

Your current 1060 6gb should be able to do 1080p 144hz in eSports titles without breaking a sweat.  Should see some fps improvement in some more graphically intensive games with the 2070.

I wouldn't bother upgrading from a 1060 to 2060. Performance increase isn't worth the cost imo.

So you mean to say that I should go for 2070? Right?

sounds about right to me.

also, rule of thumb with upgrading within nvidia's product stack: always jump at least two "spots", with aa "spot" being either the same product in a newer generation, or a higher product within the same generation.

that said, at 1080p.. if you're having FPS issues with a GTX1060, turn down the bloaty eyecandy like cranking anti aliasing to the max.

also, @Emski89 the monitor listed in your signature is 60Hz?

Your setup should easily do more than 144fps in esports titles.

Stinkpci5 3550. DDR3 1600mhz 8GB. Gigabyte GA-H61N-USB3.0. Sapphire RX 570 Nitro 4GB oc. Noctua NH-L12. WD Black 600GB. Silverstone PSU 1KW. Advent 1440x900 75hz VGA monitor 1ms. Acer Veriton M464 chassis.

Self help guide.

Well if you play any real games, that cpu won’t handle a 2070.

Wouldnt expect much out of a 1060 either.
