Do Head Units use the same harnesses?

I currently have this head unit

https://www.kenwood.com/usa/car/receiver/kdc-168u/

And I'm going to buy this one

https://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/DVD+Receivers/AVH-1300NEX

The harness look the exact same and have the same pins. Does this mean I can just plug and play the new one without using an adapter?

Thanks

The head unit should come with one of these type of adapters in the box

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Pioneer-Car-Radio-Radio-Connector-Cable-Radio-Adapter-18-pin-Iso-Deh-Keh-/252296461707

Big brown and black connectors are standard ISO connectors that attach to matching connectors on the wiring in the vehicle itself. This was true for my european car, I'm not sure if all locations use the ISO connectors in the vehicle.

Basically if the head unit is new it should come with the adapter from Head Unit Output > Wiring in the vehicle.

I'm saying that my current radio and the new one have the exact same plug. Can I just use the existing one in my car without adding anything?

If I were you I wouldn't. Even if both head units were by the same manufacturer I probably wouldn't.

Without having the pinout of the head units, there is no way to tell if same things go to the same pins.

I'm sure googling the pinouts would take more time than 1 minute to change the adapter cable.

I mean if you want to risk $400 head unit and wiring in your car you can try it.
