GPU turning off while computer is not in use

So I was just concerned, when I don't use the pc, and i have my screen set to turn off after 15 minutes. And after that at random times, I noticed that my GPU lights turn off for like 10 seconds and turn back on. And that continues happening every 2-4 mins. Is this normal?
