Transporting PC

So im not sure where to post this.

 

Specs are in my signature. Im going to be doing some house sitting for nearby family this weekend and want to take my PC with me. Im already planning on taking out the GPU as its the most likely thing to move around during transport.

Is there anything else that would be recommended to do?

 

FYI: Going to transport the system in the box the case came in (Lian-Li packaging)

I think the PSU is the only other part I'd remove, wouldn't really want that bumping around.

PC on its side, motherboard parallel to the floor, with the ram and cooler facing up. Those are the most important tall parts that you don't want shaking up and down with the road.

I will look into that although the PSU is very secure.

Noted. Will be in original packaging with the styrofoam. Will keep on its side for transport. Anything else?

If its on its side, and not on a surface or place where it would easily slide around, it'll be fine. I've transported PCs in my car plenty of times, not even in a box.

For car transport, it's usually going to be fine. Shipping is when you would have to worry because the post workers will downright throw it, but there's usually not much to worry about, especially because you'll be handling with care.

take out the HDD & GPU, that's the only fragile thing in the pc.

Dead hdd = data loss.
