Am4 socket first gen

Hi! This could be a stupid question but I have a gigabyte aorus ga ax370 k5 board with a 1600 cpu and I was wondering if It works with a second gen cpu like 2600. Thanks in advance!

You probably need to do a bios update but other than that it's fine

The main advantage of Ryzen is that this is designed to work, likely all the way through a supposed 4th gen of Ryzen CPUs. If you need to, Google "how to update a BIOS for gigabyte" and that's all you'll need to do to make it work.

According to Gigabyte you'll want to download the latest  AMD Chipset Driver before updating (see here assuming Win10 64bit: https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Motherboard/GA-AX370-Gaming-K5-rev-1x#support-dl-driver-chipset) , then you should update to BIOS F25 seen here: https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Motherboard/GA-AX370-Gaming-K5-rev-1x#support-dl-bios

I have latest bios since I've been updating on every launch because if ram speeds. I will install the latest chipset to then! Thanks!
