My pc used to work just fine, but then it randomly shut off.

I did some troubleshooting with someone on this forum and eventually we found out that my psu just randomly stops delivering any power once my pcie cable is plugged in.

I've had no problem for a month now, so everything should be fine but it just isn't.

What do I do to fix this?

That's... Odd...
What PSU? What system specs? Are you talking about plugged in to the component or plugged in to the PSU (modular)?

Have you tested the graphics card in another PC?

When I plug my pcie cables into my gpu, my entire pc just doesn't get powered or at least doesn't turn on anymore. If I take it out, everything turns on again.

Everything is plugged in correctly and other slots won't work either( pcie slots and plug location in the psu ). The only thing I know is that just before crashing, I noticed that my gpu had an abnormally high powerdraw and was going at full blast for a simple game like unturned which shouldn't happen. What do I do to fix this?

Well one thing I'd look at is the cable again. Apparently the orientation can matter, so my system also didn't work but it did when I reversed the cable between the GPU and PSU.

you mean flip it around? With the split end in the psu?

Ah you have one with a split end, no then you are fine.

Well apart from the fact that your PC is still not working. I think something is shorting in your GPU, I don't think it's very wise to try and power on the system with the GPU connected. Have you tried another expansion card in that slot?

(Seriously if it's shorting you can set your GPU on fire, I actually managed to do that a while back)

I might be able to try and get the gpu in a different system, but not a different gpu in my system.

I think either bringing it to a professional or sourcing some other test hardware would be a good idea. Just be very careful and don't hold your face to close to the GPU when you power on the system.
