I have my USB dac and headset setup just for the mic. when dac is unplugged the audio is switched ti the headset thats on 3.5mm

I know how if you are willing to Install Voicemeeter Potato.

 

1.) You set your default output in Windows to "Voicemeeter Input". 

2.) In Voicemeeter in top right corner you click on A1 and set it as your first headphone and A2 as your second headphone.

3.) In the middle section of Voicemeeter under Voicemeeter Input you enable A1 and A2 and disable everything else. 

 

Now it should work.
