What do you mean by spinning up, do you mean the harddrive fan?

Have you configured your BIOS to AHCI Mode for the SATA controller? Otherwise there may be some difficulties for your SSD's.

Please refer to your Motherboards user Manual for details on how to change the SATA controller mode from IDE to AHCI.

Now see there is the problem, the only manual that came with this mother board was an installation guide in about 20 different languages

You can search for you self if you have a non UEFI bios it should be under SATA -> SATA Mode -> AHCI

Not sure for UEFI ones (those controllable with mouse)

You have to search a bit in the bios.. if you dont misconfigure anything else you should be fine.

No it has changed now to show the asrock boot screen where you can hit f2 to set up uefi, then goes immediantly to a screen that says missing operation system although the os is in one of the 2 ssd

Definitly sounds like you ahve to enable AHCI.. you search your BIOS or ask someone who got UEFI aswell :D I'm like 3 years behind that generation :(

Are the SSD's the same? Have you tried booting from the other SSD?

You can see if the SSD's are set to run in AHCI in advanced section.
