I am new to laptops I have seen a lot of reviews but can’t find a reliable one for this msi model

Ehhhh lackluster GPU. Also generally not a fan of MSI's build quality.

What use is the laptop going to be for?

 

1050 Ti is not a very powerful graphics card..

GF series is bollocks. How much is this one? Have a look at GP63 (with a 1060) - affordable, with great cooling.

I have a budget of $1200 and I live in a country where this and lenovo legion y520 with core i7-7700hq are my options,

Between the two y520 all day long. 

 

The 1050ti is more than enough for 1080p gaming still, and honestly not many chassis can cool much above a 1060 anyway.
