Overclocking Ryzen 5 1600x

Shouom

Hi, can anyone walk me through what I should be doing to get to 4GHz, I'd also like to have my RAM run at 3200MHz.So far I haven't done anything in the BIOS, only loaded default settings and enabled XMP

My Motherboard is Gigabyte GA-AB350M-DS3H V2

My Ram is Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000MHz

CPU cooler is a Coolermaster Hyper T4

PSU is a Corsair CX450.

Google ryzen overclocking guide, should get you a lot of information like max safe voltages to help you avoid killing your cpu. I believe Steve at GamersNexus noticed some disparity between voltage displayed in software and voltage actually going to the cpu, make sure you mind that

Question, Is my motherboards VRM too weak?

shouldn't be that much of a problem, they aren't that good, but you could try and see how far you can come with one of the guides listed above

Just note that you may not be able to get to 4Ghz

I have my 1500x at 3.9GHz and that's actually a better overclocker in my experience

Also just set your memory speed to what it's rated at, you can't overclock memory

Memory overclocking is only specific to certain OC Competitions and should not be messed with!!!

Since Ryzen is very bad with normal memory, you'd be lucky to be stable at 2933MHz :P

What do you mean, they're running at 3000MHz with XMP enabled, Task manager and CPU-Z confirms this tooimage.png.bdecffb3f63ebb3a84dd78b036bc762d.png
