So, I am having trouble deciding what to upgrade. Assuming money is tight in this area since I am dealing with other expenses, I'd love to get anyone's input on this. I am currently using my PC for gaming, this is what takes up most of the performance I mean. I am using a Pentium (I don't remember exactly which it is, didn't save the box) CPU, and a GTX 1050 Ti GPU. Now, when I run a game like Overwatch, my CPU runs at about 45%, and my GPU runs at about 98%. If I play a game like PUBG, my CPU runs at about 75% and my GPU runs at 100%. Are there any suggestions about what type of GPU to get without going overboard, and maybe a subtle CPU upgrade as well?

Thanks to anyone who replies. I appreciate it!

You can check which Pentium CPU you are using by opening Task Manager and looking at the CPU in the Performance tab.

What CPU you can upgrade to will depend on what CPUs are compatible with that motherboard, otherwise you might need to upgrade your motherboard (and possibly RAM) as well.

What resolution are you playing at? What FPS are you getting in the game you're playing?
What's your budget for the upgrades?

CPU: Intel i7 6700k  | Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 5 | RAM: 2x16GB 3000MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX | GPU: Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080ti | PSU: Corsair RM750x (2018) | Case: BeQuiet SilentBase 800 | Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports | SSD: Samsung 970 Evo 500GB + Samsung 840 500GB + Crucial MX500 2TB | Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU + Samsung BX2450

maybe a used rx 480/580, 1060 6gb or 1070 or even a gtx970/980 if you can find. If you only want to look at new I'd say rx580/590 or 1660ti (or wait for nvidia to launch their next 50 series card) need mobo chipset (model ideally, can be found with hwinfo64 or speccy) or cpu name to offer cpu options

Yeah, as Spotty said, it's kind of hard to recommend an upgrade without knowing full system specs.

You can always run Speccy to see your full system specs - https://www.ccleaner.com/speccy

Main Rig:-

Ryzen 7 3800X | Asus ROG Strix X570-F Gaming | 16GB Team Group Dark Pro 3600Mhz | Corsair MP600 1TB PCIe Gen 4 | Sapphire 5700 XT Pulse | Corsair H115i Platinum | WD Black 1TB | WD Green 4TB | EVGA SuperNOVA G3 650W | Asus TUF GT501 | Samsung C27HG70 1440p 144hz HDR FreeSync 2 | Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS |

Server:-

Intel NUC running Server 2019 + Synology DSM218+ with 2 x 4TB Toshiba NAS Ready HDDs (RAID0)
