Which cpu?

So ima do computer science in uni, I was wondering which cpu is better for someone that does computer science. I would also do gaming too. This is my build which is for gaming and I wish to get me through a couple years. Is AMD good for programming and coding or is intel better? Aint really keen on using a laptop a lot like most people do tbh. Always prefered a desktop.

Programming, for the most part and at least for two years of introduction classes, doesnt take any power whatsoever.

Overall, not a bad build, but get a better cooler like the Arctic Freezer 33 or even better, a Dark Rock Pro 4

Then swap the power supply for a G2, RMx or FOCUS unit

i think you should for for an i7 as ur going to have a lot of multitasking, i don't know if a 2700x would be better, it often depends on the specific program rather than the logo.

look for a 1070, at least in italy, u can find them at 200€ sometime.

corsair is ok, but since u want to be futur proof, u can take an evga g2/g3, usually they cost a lil more, but their warranty last for 10 years lol

that cpu cooler look so poor, imho you should get something better.

Good thoughtful points but I would stick with what he picked,  You did good man.  You can argue about the 212 evo or a Noctua DH-15 or a Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 4 and what not.

Asus Sabertooth x79 / 4930k @ 4500 @ 1.408v / Gigabyte WF 2080 RTX / Corsair VG 64GB @ 1866 & AX1600i & H115i Pro @ 2x Noctua NF-A14 / Carbide 330r Blackout

Scarlett 2i2 Audio Interface / KRK Rokits 10" / Sennheiser HD 650 / Logitech G Pro Wireless Mouse & G915 Linear & G935 & C920 / SL 88 Grand / Cakewalk / NF-A14 Int P12 Ex
AOC 40" 4k Curved / LG 55" OLED C9 120hz / LaCie Porsche Design 2TB & 500GB / Samsung 950 Pro 500GB / 850 Pro 500GB / Crucial m4 500GB / Asus M.2 Card

gtx 1070 costs more than the rtx 2060 in my country and the rtx performs better for gaming. Would an amd or intel cpu affect the performance of an rtx 2060. I heard that intel cpus only show a difference when it comes to high end gpus.

Sorry, what does RMx or Focus unit mean? I understand G2 but not the others.

Nobody cares. And from experience I had with those people, I have to say hat most of them are bad people that don't have any idea about Hardware...

Yes, they are good. ANd because they are wider, more threads and usually don't disable SMT for no reason,

Why not get this system??

Though I'd get a Bitfenix Whisper M or be quiet Straight Power 11 instead...
