Hi, I know it'll be a little weird question, but I just ordered my 2nd gpu, and I have no idea what to do with it (it was a very sweet deal).  And somehow Google is not helping.

I'll try to keep it short:

- power, how to connect it? I have 750W PSU and 1 gtx1080 connected to it with 6+8 pin what I ordered is 8 pin only, I have modular PSU (CHIEFTEC 750W Nitro 2 (BPS-750C2))

- drivers? both cards are gtx1080s but from different manufacturers, installed now is Gainward, ordered one is PNY GEFORCE GTX 1080 8GB GDDR5X BULK, should I reset drivers, or just keep what I have?

- bios. should I tweak something in it to make it x8 x8 instead of x16? MOBO is ASUS STRIX Z270E GAMING

Anything else I forgot?

Also, it's not for games so I don't care about SLI

Thanks in an advance.

you'll have to fill all of the power plugs, so 6+8 for your current model and 8 for the new one

You can't do x16 for SLI on that motherboard. It will automatically be x8.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I need?

The PSU should have another PCIE power cable and spot for it. Use that to power the 8 pin.

I would use DDU to uninstall the drivers, power down, install the second card, then reinstall drivers.

Your MOBO should switch to x8x8 automatically.

To use SLI with both cards you will need an SLI bridge.

GOOD LUCK!

Well having a 1080 and not gaming is a bit of a bummer.

Sell both, buy RX580, and profit!!!

thanks, I'll try to find that cable.
Is DDU part necessary to work correctly?

It will make things easier.  WIthout DDU you will probably need to reboot a few times for the system to stabilize, but if you aren't going to SLI, then what is the point here?

OK, thanks I'll keep it in mind.

It's for work (3d rendering) no SLI needed for that. And for games, I think 1 gtx1080 is enough for now.
