AMD to Nvidia

Just bought an EVGA 1080 SC to replace my r9 380x. Just wondering if installing the new drivers is as simle as just using control panel to uninstal AMD, then turning off and plugging out the pc, replacing the card and then booting up normally and then installing Nvidia drivers. Have seen some tutorials where they all use drive cleeners, is this neccesary?

DDU in safe mode and then you can install nVidia drivers fresh new.

ive never had an issue installing then installing drivers. Just download the Geforce experience software, they will keep your 1080 up to date!

CPU: I9-9900k

Mobo: Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro-Wifi

GPU: MSI RTX 2070 Gamin Z 

Cooling: Cooler Master ML360R AIO

might interfear with each other, i agree with @Princess Cadence to ddu the crap out of any amd driver

If it was going from nvidia to nvidia you likely could get away with simply installing the new driver but if its going from AMD to nvidia or vise versa then you will want to properly uninstall the driver using DDU first.

I usually ddu twice to be honest when it comes to amd drivers, yes i had instances when i had to do it twice. My recommendation is as the others said, for just 5-7 minutes max of effort it takes to use ddu its not worth the hassle such conflicts could bring, use ddu.

Do i uninstall first from control panel? And then use DDU?
