i have 2 ram. 1 is gskill (16-18-18-38) 8gb  and another is avexir (16-18-18-36) 8gb .   is there any problem can happen if latency is different. like in this 2 ram last 1 is different 18 and 16.  i'm seeing some problem. when i play online games sometimes the game froze like i have to signout or restart to use pc. otherwise no button work. its completely hanged.....any help .... thanks

but disabled cpu odd ratio. now on cpuz  its showing 17-18-18-36 2T

there should be something in that board to do it, but i'm not that familair with asus bioses

well i'm not seeing any option to manually change latency of ram on asus z370e mobo. so if anyone can help me...that will be appreciated.....thanks

try this site. https://proclockers.com/reviews/motherboards/asus-rog-strix-z370-e-gaming-motherboard-review/page/0/4

go to extreme tweaker and select the section for DRAM timing control.

mind you, it is not ideal to use different sticks with different timing and brand. i suggest that you either sell those sticks and buy a new one, or choose between the two and look for the similar stick to that one that you choose.

Is there an option to set the ram voltage, or check it with hardwareinfo64 to insure its set correctly? There's no reason your ram shouldn't "just work" at timings set as conservatively as the cpuz is showing there, unless one of the sticks is bad. They're running lower speed and a relaxed Cas latency.

Try running each stick individually, and run AIDA64's memory stress test for a little while to see if either stick fails.

thanks for the reply. but asus z370e doesn't have any extream tweaker. doesn't have any option on this mobo to manuallly change latency @Code.016

there should be one, but i think its a different menu or tab. try looking out for reference or guides for your bios if you're not that familiar with it. and since it is a Z series mobo, you should be able to tweak your DRAM timings.

For ram you really need to run multiple workloads to really prove stability especially in this instance. AIDA64's memory stress test for an hour, memtest 64 for a while with at least 85% of your ram loaded, and Prime95 with large FFTs or a custom test to use a lot of ram for an hour, are some good ones. Also if you have them, run 3DMark, chances are that will freeze too if anything is wrong.

If you're seeing freezes in game there's no way in heck all that should pass with no issues.

Can you post pictures or a screenshot of your bios?

what u mean by 85% ram loaded. should i put task on or its the amount of ram i should check @HoneyBadger84

In MemTest64, make sure in the setting dropdown it has for "Tested Memory" that you're doing at least 85% of your RAM capacity.  In my case, I have 32GB of RAM so I did 25600MB, so that Windows still had some room in the background to do things, with what Windows already had running, this resulted in an 87% Physical Memory Load, which means that much of the memory was being tested, or used, for that hour.

Oh, and you can't really do anything on the system while running that, because it's such a resource-intensive process, most other programs don't have the priority needed to do much.  I passed the time by reading things on my phone on these here forums.  Just got done with an hour long run myself on my newfangled RAM timings.

Do you have xmp enabled? Try disabling it and see if it unlocks the auto timings.

hey i changed the ram today....it has problem.

now i want to ask u that is 1.344v is too much for 2666mgh ram clock?

its set to auto voltage mode. @HoneyBadger84

If you are using XMP it's going to set the voltage to whatever the ram tells it to. There's not really an instance where the motherboard will auto to too much RAM voltage I don't think. Unless you're pushing high speed with voltage on auto which is always a bad idea.

Did you get a new kit? If so what are the specs, a link would be handy.

well xmp is off....idk how that was working previously. but now i put 2666mgh manually. and voltage is auto by default. idk how to manually change the voltage.

And yes i got the previous stick replaced through warranty.

spec of what? ram?....same as previous one ... its warranty. @HoneyBadger84

It should be able to run 3200MHz at 1.35V as is listed in the XMP profile on the cpuz screenshot you posted before. Try enabling xmp and see if it works.

well i put manually 3200mhz. voltage was like 1.44 in auto. i became astonish. so put it in 2666mhz . well if i run at max clock(3200) is there problem happen for ram lifetime or though my 2 stick is in different latency at 3200mhz(36 and 38).   at 2400MHz its (36,36) both same. so what u say...what mhz should i use. @HoneyBadger84
