high cpu usage

i have a very high cpu usage even when idling and it seems that games eat up much more % than what they need... 

temps are always below 70 C

 

rainbow: 100% (bug), 100-120 fps

osu!: 40%, 144 fps

fortnight: 60-70%, 144 fps

shadow of the tomb raider: 75-90%, 100-144 fps

rust: 90-100%, 70-100 fps

stream labs obs nvemc 720(60), 10-20%, 60 fps

windows by itself: 11%, 31% memory

 

specs are i5 8600k, gtx 1070 ti, aourus z370 gaming 7.

 

any tips on what to do to improve performance?

this is fine when im not doing anything else but if i try to stream  my cpu caps out and stream freezes causing frame drops and stuttering.

If you have an anti-virus program that would be the culprit, otherwise look at task manager and see what is using so much. Also, make sure that your drivers are up to date and you have intel management engine installed.

should i get ime from intel or gigabyte?

and the only antivirus is malware bytes free defender is turned off

drivers are newest but its a gigabyte board sooo

Open Task Manager to see the what is using the CPU.

how can you say that that is high usage? of course your system is going to use as much of everything it can while playing games

post screenshots of your task manager as well as what your gpu usage is

How long since you built the pc..

Could be background updates.

 

Saw a video where they changed settings for the internet to say they were capped.. resolved issues like this.

Was on win 10 though but worth a shot
