The well kept Canadian secret known a Alexisonfire has launched their first single in 9 years.  Their new single Familiar Drugs launched 2/15/19 with an accompanying live show at the House of Strombo which was live stream at 8pm ET.

I don't know about anyone else but I am super stoked because this probably means a tour and new album on the way. I seen them live at the Calgary Stampede Coca-Cola stage and the crowd was as big Our Lady Peace the next day. (Another Canadian secret.)

What do you guys think about this new development?

Scene kid/emo band.

I wouldn't necessarily say that. You get that odd douche bag who shows up like that usually gets the shit kicked out of them for being that way because people are not the kindest but any of the concerts I've seen in the west side of Canada have been pretty normal people. Also emo wouldn't be an accurate description either as most of their music falls into the description of post hardcore and melodic hardcore. Really they're a heavier (early to mid) Billy Talent or a heavier Rise Against.

Well their core stuff goes with scene kid stuff, and they are listed as screamo not your traditional emo.  Not trying to offend you just saying, that's what I see listed.  It's not really my thing.

That's totally fair. I apologize if it came off the wrong way. Just trying to spread the word to my fellow Canadians and those few in the USA and the UK who have seen them as they're a very iconic Canadian band (who have sold as platinum for all of their albums) for the harder music genres especially now since the Canadian music industry isn't as strong as it used to be for anything rock or derived from rock. A lot of amazing artists never really breakout here regardless of genre.
