GPU OC 10-Series

So lately I have been overclocking my system for the first time. CPU is perfect (except in occt is say 4.8 not 5 like HWinfo says) after learning everything I could about every setting available and bios settings, no LLC on this MOBO however.

 

Problem area is GPU OC. I have it so far on a 1070ti ftw2 I'm at 142 on core and 200 on memory after going from 175 memory to 200 I lose a bit of core mhz. from 1974 to 1962. Is that normal. One main question I have is what to do with voltage I found this "guide" yesterday. https://forums.tomshardware.com/faq/safe-gpu-overclocking-guide-2016-r1-3.2384406/

 

Is this only for 900 series gpu or does it work for all?

Also messing with voltage on a gpu is scary to a GPU OC noobie like myself.

Only 200Mhz extra on VRAM ?  Don't even bother if that is the case and what not.

Not done overclocking I stopped for a moment after I found that article. Cause the voltage I'm going to do the core manually anyways after I know for sure about that voltage slider. Should I put it max or not even touch it.  The 142 on core is from OC scanner from EVGA. Which was very conservative on my 970 ftw on my old system. So really the article and voltage is throwing me off. Don't wanna brick anything of course.

Without voltage change you should be able to overclock the VRAM a lot and the Core a little bit that won't even matter in real world.

So maxing voltage slider will be better to use when overclocking? Max on my online stats are around 2100hmz on core. Which I would like to reach, if possible of course.

You can OC to 2050 without touching the voltage.  Also if you insist to increase voltage, just make sure your looking at your temps and what not.

Ohh okay. Thank you for the information, was just scared kind of about the voltage. I heard horror stories of bricking cards and straight up death of them. The cooling on this card is pretty good (ICX from evga) also planning to do water once my mods arrive. Thanks again.
