Will wiping my drive clear everything?

So I downloaded some scripts for hacking minecraft because I was playing it with friends for nostalgia and I thought it would be funny to hack . I got a syntax error when trying to install them but I eventually got some hack via another method. but I now realize that it was not a very recognized site  that I got those script from and Im afraid I may get a virus or someone to get into my computer or something of the sort(despite the error).Im wondering if I completely wipe the drive if it will clear those scripts from my pc and I will be good to go

Depends on how advanced the malware is. Sometimes it can partition itself and hide when you reformat your drive. I doubt this would be that advanced assuming you even have a virus in the first place.

It was just some stupid thing

 

nevermind I found out it was just a userscript, meant to be run in google chrome for a game that looked like minecraft (Im dumb)Well that probably explains that I got an error when trying to run it outside of chrome.

It depends on what those scripts did. "Syntax error" just means the script wasn't written correctly and whatever's running the script won't run it. Just imagine this like you have a super pedantic English teacher and they refuse to grade your paper if you misspelled even one word.

Yeah it was a userscript meant to be run in chrome for a game that looked like minecraft which means that I just tried to run a script for a website in windows which probably makes sense

In general, run Malwarebytes. If still unsure, run MalwareBytes and Kaspersky. You should do this regularly as part of your standard operating policy.

In general, there are very few things that can subvert that combination, the only publicly known of which are highly believed to be state sponsored targeted espionage packages from EquationGroup.

you are residing to formatting a little too quick don't you think:P If it even is a virus you can remove it before doing that. I don't think it's anything serious.
