Asus Q504UAK External Gpu using m.2 to pcie

Canoe?

I noticed my laptop (an Asus q504uak) had an m.2 slot, no integrated graphics, and a decent cpu and plenty of memory. So I got an m.2 to pcie adapter on newegg and threw an old gtx750ti on it. And it worked! ...sort of. The laptop will only output from the video outputs on the gpu. Not the built in display. Doesnt even see the monitor anywhere in the system. Ive checked the bios to re-enable intel's integrated graphics but no such option exists in my laptop's bios (and i checked, its the latest version). If anyone has any tips on how to get intel integrated graphics enabled without the option in bios, or even just getting the gpu to detect the built in display any help would be much appreciated. As a side note: when connected to an external display it runs quite well and the laptop keyboard/track pad still function normally. Just the display isnt seen by the system anymore. Thanks!
