My dad has a 27" 2017 imac (i5-7500 or 7400 + RX 570X + 40GB of ram xD), and he wants to benchmark it, I would like to know some reccommended MacOS compatible benchmarks, as I am a mostly Windows/Linux guy.

Here is what I came up with (listed from best to worst imo, please leave suggestions)

CPU:

Cinebench R15 (https://www.maxon.net/en/products/cinebench/)

V-Ray Bench (https://www.chaosgroup.com/vray/benchmark)

Geekbench (https://www.geekbench.com/)

GPU:

Unigine Heaven/Valley (https://benchmark.unigine.com/)

GFXBench (https://gfxbench.com/result.jsp)

V-ray GPU + Cinebench GPU

Other:

NovaBench (https://novabench.com/)

oh, and blender and handbrake too!

As always, Thanks!

If im not mistaken, geekbench is the way to go? I havent used a mac or MacOS in a while so there could totally be something new.

Indigo Benchmark is a decent cross-platform benchmark.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ram prices were dropping, 100$ for a 16GB sodimm, he decided to buy two, as having a video (he does video editing and photo editing) on a ramdisk (i think its 20-25GB) really helps scrubbing. (Ramdisk is faster than a NVMe raid array, ~344Gb/s vs a 4 970 evos 14Gb/s
