Make sure the drive you're trying to clone isn't running or in use as errors like this may occur. If the device being cloned has your OS create a live USB with Ubuntu and then use dd to clone the disk.

Ah, unfortunate to see these crap programs still have the same errors as 10 years ago.

Are the files from the 128GB SSD still there or the program just cut and paste?

A) If the files are indeed still there do this:

  1. Download Clonezilla (there's a detailed install and boot guide on their site)
  2. Go into Disk Management in Windows and Click on the Samsung SSD, delete any existing volume and create a new simple volume that is exactly the same size as the partition you want to clone, don't worry you can still expand it later to its full size using the same tool.
  3. Using CZ select local-to-local part clone
  4. In SOURCE select your 128GB SSD partition
  5. And in TARGET select the new empty partition you've created in step 3
  6. Hit OK and let it work
  7. Once the program is done restart the computer, now you'll have two operating systems, select the one at the bottom of the list, it's likely to be the one in your new SSD
  8. If the OS is the right one you can already format your old SSD and delete the old OS from the boot menu list (Control Panel > System > Advanced > Startup and recovery > Default operating system)
  9. Delete that Uselessium program forever and enjoy your new drive, don't forget to expand the partition using diskmgmt again.

B) If the files aren't there you should do a clean install on the new SSD and try to recover the lost files from the old drive.

Clonezilla is the only trustworthy since it doesn't works under Windows, you can't clone a file if the OS is already using it, that's why programs like Macrium fail.

Cloned a lot of drives with Clonezilla for clients and never had an issue with it, read the guide on their site and my comment, take notes to avoid mistakes and it'll be a simple task

Really? Then explain how I've been able to use Macrium Reflect running on the Win 7 drive I was cloning to create a clone on another drive over a dozen times?

The only time I ever had a clone fail was when the source drive (a data drive, not the boot drive, btw; boot drive clones have never failed for me) had become corrupted. I reformated the source drive, restored it by cloning from a backup drive, then successfully completed the original clone I was attempting.

What can cause problems is trying to clone an MBR disk to a GPT disk. The clone will work but the GPT disk will become an MBR disk. If cloning to a drive larger than 2TB (technically, 2.2TB), only 2TB will be allocated.

One has to be proactive, not reactive, to ensure the safety of one's data so backup your data! And RAID is NOT a backup!

If you want a good solid and professional program, I highly recommend Paragon Hard Disk Manager 12 Professional.

Clonezilla is little complicated I not sure I can use that and clone can anyone say some other suggestions... This is the first time I am cloning an SSD...

Did you run chkdsk or try the Macrium Rescue Disk like I suggested in your previous thread?

If you want another alternative program besides Macrium or Clonezilla (both of which should work in a live boot/recovery environment unless there are problems with the source), you can give AIOMEI Backupper a shot as well.
