gsync is gysnc

adaptive sync is freesync

freesync is a bit worse, but costs way less

And gsync is only supported by Nvidia GPUs while adaptive sync is Intel, AMD and some(?) Nvidia GPUs.

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

I'm planning to buy a gaming monitor.
ASUS VG278Q or ASUS VG279Q

ASUS VG278Q is G-Sync
ASUS VG279Q is Adaptive-sync

What's the difference between Adaptive-sync and G-sync.

Just wanted to point out you have the G-Sync and Adaptive Sync monitors flipped. The Adaptive is the 278Q, which by the way, is one of the 12 officially supported Freesync/Adaptive Sync monitors by Nvidia as long as you have a 10 series card or newer.

EDIT: sorry, both are Freesync, just the 278Q is "Gsync Compatible"

my GPU is RTX2060 so i think it supports' G-Sync?

Since you have the RTX2060 and the 278Q is on the Official 12 list of Freesync compatible monitors, get the 278Q monitor as you will be guaranteed it to work with G-sync enabled.
