Gaming laptop temperature test

Hi there guys.

 

I want to test my Legion Y520 before and after I change the thermal paste for temperatures. Can you please suggest me a software?

I really am a complete beginner in this section. Some1 suggested me furmark but I do not know how to proceed? For example run furmark for 10 mis and see max temperature? Than after I changed the paste run it again for 10 mins and compare the differences?

 

Or how would I proceed? Can you give me some advice please?

For stressing the CPU: OCCT, Prime95, IntelBurnTest IBT

For stressing the GPU: FurMark, Unigine Heaven, MSI kombustor

Temperature monitoring software: HWMonitor, HwInfo64, CoreTemp, SpeedFan, Aida64

 

I'd recommend running something to stress the GPU while stressing the CPU - this will generate the most heat.

The PSU test in OCCT is similar to running OCCT:CPU and Furmark together, so it's not bad to use.

 

How long should you monitor the temperatures? I'd say 5-10 minutes AFTER they stop increasing (climbing).

Meaning it might take 5 minutes to reach MAX temperatures but also it might take 30 minutes to reach the max or only a few moments...

For the CPU use prime95 v26.6 because that wont use avx

For the gpu run furmark or unigin heaven.

run it for an hour or so to know max temps or for 10min to see the difference without waiting 2 hours

Don't use Prime95 and Furmark

 

A game or Unigine Heaven+Cinebench R15 Multi (or if you want higher stress on CPU, Aida64 FPU)
