Is there a way to sync save files between two computers? I have a desktop and laptop that I use regularly. I’d like to be able to sync a save file from one of the games I play on both systems. I want to try and avoid saving the file to a thumb drive and transferring it. If this is possible via internet that would be preferred.

I am using SycnToy to sync my laptop with my PC when I am home. It syncs over the local network not over the internet.

If you want to sync files over the internet even if you are not at home you can use an cloud service like mega.nz google drive dropbox usw. install their sync softwar on you PC and your laptop and you are good to go.

You could install RealVNC server (or TightVNC server) on your computer, and do port forwarding in the router/modem's configuration so that you can connect from outside your home using a password and your home IP address.

With your laptop, you can use a RealVNC  or TightVNC client to connect to your computer (these are basically like Remote Desktop Connection or Teamviewer if you're not familiar with the names) and the tool has a built in File Transfer feature, you can use it to easily transfer files between computers without uploading stuff anywhere else.
